General Health and Safety Officer duties including;

Writing the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures.

Ensuring the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures are implemented consistently across the company and monitoring, evaluating and reviewing the Health and Safety policy and procedures.

Working closely with high level management and H&S Consultants to develop and improve both the role and the companies policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety on site.

Overseeing health and safety related databases and records (accidents and incident logs, training and general service)

Conducting site audits to ensure compliance with the H&S Plan, current legislation and HSE guidelines.

Conducting workplace inspections

Ensuring corrective measures or temporary arrangements are put in place on active sites to address any highlighted issues from audits to ensure sites are safe and compliant.

Identifying and implementing improvements on an ongoing and timely basis, sharing good practice techniques across the company.

Providing guidance and training to site management teams and providing emergency assistance to address any issues as they arise on site.

Supporting the embedded health and safety team to ensure that the health and safety management systems are being maintained and developed

Liaising with the health and safety committee and helping the team prepare for safety related meetings

Conducting risk assessments and accident investigations, focusing on risk prevention, safety coaching and ensuring that recommended Health and Safety policies and procedures are in place.

Conducting in-house training on the company Health and Safety Policy, Plan, current legislation and Health and Safety Executives guidelines.
