Personal statement

An accomplished and self-motivated undergraduate with a 2:1 BA Business Management awaiting results for an MBA in Business Administration. With a strong work ethic developed over 14 years in both the public and private sector. Experienced in management, recruitment, fast-paced customer service, account management, accountability, governance, compliance, data-sensitivity, hygiene and health and safety as well as training and mentoring. Currently seeking dynamic long-term roles within the function of Finance, Human Resources (specifically training), Marketing, Supply Chain Management or Consultancy positions.

Ability to communicate in a variety of ways. Skilled in presentations, report writing and seminar and lecture contribution, as well as strong customer service skills.

Innovation and Project Management
Skilled in generating creative ideas, and implementing them to meet strategic goals – as demonstrated during my time working a on various projects during academia and consultancy project on behalf of Tubby Toms whom I helped in developing a clear understanding of consumer motivations to purchase and their interactions with the brand. All of this was under a tight deadline with a small diverse team.
Awareness and appropriate utilisation of PRINCE2 methodology whilst leading a small research team for a sustainability project.

Commercial awareness
Ability to focus my team on organisations targets, training needs and compliance targets as seen in my managerial role in gambling trade.
Able to understand and utilise consumer behaviour in order to hit KPIs – as learnt in a number of modules, and seen during my career, application in how I approach modules and measure my own financial performances.
Ability to recruit and train individuals appropriately over long periods of time which is seen in my deputy manager role.
Ability to gain an understanding of consumer needs and requirements via Netnography (reviewing online reviews to seek trends and insights into customer’s viewpoints and experiences).

 

IT and technology
Intermediate user of Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Including brief exposure to Microsoft Project Management software. Also hold experience in learning and providing 1st line bespoke software support.

 

Data and Finance
During my academia I have developed the ability to manage financial data. This has complimented my ability to interpret and analyse data as well as troubleshooting issues using numerical data. This compliments formula skills developed in Excel and account management in gambling industry.
